Description PURPOSE STATEMENT The Phlebotomist under the supervision of the Director or Manager of Laboratory, facilitates efficient workflow in the reception area, ensures patients are properly registered and have the appropriate doctor's orders, medical necessity and paperwork required, then enters the lab orders into the computer. They collect lab specimens from inpatients and outpatients, collect DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screen (UDS), complete breath alcohol testing (BAT), process lab reports, answer the telephone, respond to codes, and support the general functions of the laboratory.…
