The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Captain and Mate in all aspects of a safe and efficient towage operation, including but not limited to the maintenance of safety equipment on both tug and barges. There will also be an element of Yard-based working attached to the role. Typical duties The mooring, unmooring, and making up tows of barges in a safe and seamanlike manner. Full compliance with all international, national, local and company safety and environmental legislation, regulations, codes, procedures, and guidance.
